The boss

Paul is our boss. He looks after his employees. We all like working for him. Mary is his secretary. She works hard because Paul works many hours a day. Some of the employees bought him a cake as a thank-you gift. They were happy to do that for him. Our office is a good place to work. It is a happy place.

Personal pronouns

Pronouns are words that take the place of nouns. We often use them to avoid repeating the nouns that they refer to.

Personal prounouns are:

I/meshe/herhe/himthey/themwe/usyou/youit/it

Mary and I met John. I spoke to him but she didn’t.
My family loves pizza. We make them every week.
You must stop shouting at me.
We would like you to join us for dinner.
Look at my cat! He climbed the tree.
